how scanner works do it use cartridge also?

We have canon pix ma 210. I want to know how scanner works. because my printer cartridges are finishing very soon and those are very costly for me. do scanner needs cartridge also, and how much it use( a lot or very less) . how many printout can we take using cartridges. where can i get those for less price. thanks in advance

Your scanner alone does not use the cardridge to scan, it uses a foto sensor, sensible to light to scan the immage and transfer it into a digital immage. check out the link below to find out more information
