If I reformat a harddrive, can I install a new mother board and cpu?
I want to replace the mother board and cpu and switch to linux OS for my pc but so I dont waste money I want to keep my harddrive. Can this be done by reformating my harddrive so that I can install the new hardware and Linux OS. If I can, can someone teach me how to reformat it please? Oh and its OK with me if I delete completely everything. Thanks in advance !!!!!
Yes, you can do it. (You don’t need to if you don’t want to) You’re linux install process should ask you if you would like to format the drive. BTW, if you don’t know what linux you want to use, I’d say look at Ubuntu.
