What are the components in creating an Operations Manual?
I have been tasked by my boss to come up with an Operations Manual. I have 2 months to complete it. But where do i start? What data do i have to gather?
An operations manual is not easy to do.
I once did one for my old company but it was based on something we had originally. It was about 300 pages long and sets out step by step was to what needs to be done in each and every situation involving the company.
I suggest you find out exactly what your company does and do some sort of chart on the processes involved from the very beginning. The manual is simply something that anyone coming to the company can learn on how the internal workings of the company are done. It is simply a step by step on how to do things.
Once you have a diagram on what your company does, each step must be simply written down and each step must be explained as to what must be done and who must give approval (if required)
