How do I physically determine what power supply will fit my PC?
I know that I want to get somewhere around a 500 to 650 watt power supply. I know that I have a midATX case. But even looking at ATX power supplies, they seem to vary in physical size measurements (e.g. wider, taller, diagonally longer, etc.) How do I realistically figure out what would and would not fit in my case? Just keep looking at the physical measurements and comparing them with what I physically measure my current power supply box to be?
Ron M is right up to a point, Physically they are all similar in size but the wattage varies, they are dead cheap & if you take off the side panel from your computer you should be able to read the specifications on the PSU itself & if necessary get one with a higher wattage rating in case the one you are using is a bit underpowered.
