Do they switch consoles at 360 repair center?

A few weeks ago my xbox 360 console got the E 74 error code, which I was told is just as bad as 3 red rings, so sent it in for repair. Over the last 2 weeks its been repaired and sent back to me. However, the console that I got back does not look like my console. I don’t mean a different version, such as an elite and white system. No, I sent an arcade system in and got an arcade system back; but it does not have any of the same marks on it. Yes they could have washed it, but it has different marks and smudges on it. So its not clean. The sticker with the original serial # is there but its a reprint. I can tell because its got a printed date of the day it was repaired.

Is it possible that they switched systems without telling me?

Thanks for reading and answering- i know this is long and sounds like a conspiracy theory, but still.

they probably gave you a refurbished console and slapped your serial number on it. perhaps yours was beyond repair?
