Dublin – A Sightseeing Guide
Ireland is an interesting sort of place, and Dublin is no exception. 35% of its people are under 25, meaning the party atmosphere is at its prime. However, these aren’t the same parties you would find in Rio or Cancun. Ireland has its parties in old stone pubs, exciting night clubs, and in the cities hundreds of music venues. In addition to the nightlife, Ireland is famous for its beautiful natural landscapes. Just be sure to have your United States passport.

Ireland has an incredibly long history, and Dublin is a very historical city. One of the best ways to experience Dublin’s history is by visiting museums. The National Gallery, the National Library, and the National Museum are very close in proximity, and they don’t cost anything to see. Castles are something you don’t want to miss while in The City Of Dublin either.
Definitely save some time to just walk around. This is the best way to experience Dublin like the local people do: walking the cobblestone streets, stopping for lunch at cafes, and soaking up the historical architecture that is so characteristic of Dublin. The best way to do this is to plan to visit a couple attractions, but walk to them instead of using public transportation or what not. Getting to an attraction might even turn out to be more memorable than the attraction itself.
If you are the kind of person that delights in a good Cold Beer, you’re in the right place. You can visit the Guinness Storehouse, where you can experience how Ireland’s most famous beer came into existence. After the self-guided tour, you can head up to the Gravity Bar on the seventh floor and enjoy a free pint of Guinness. This elevated location is also a great place to get a bird’s eye view of historical Dublin. There is also the Old Jameson Distillery, where you can sample some free whiskey as well!
Dublin’s beer culture, as mentioned previously, is definitely worth noting. Kehoe’s is the best place to get a tall glass of Guinness, and it’s the exact same sort of set up you would picture an Irish pub to have: wooden floors and walls with locals gathered around laughing and sharing stories. The Porterhouse is Dublin’s oldest microbrewery pub, serving their own homemade beers and stouts. If you’re feeling extra bold, try the Oyster Stout, a stout made with oysters. The Brazen Head is the oldest pub in Ireland, said to be 1000 years old.
If you like to eat, then Dublin can feed you. Bobo’s is a restaurant famous for their juicy, delicious hamburgers, and you can find the best Italian food in town at Dunne & Crescenzi. Aqua is the place to go for seafood, a staple of Irish cuisine. Speaking of Irish cuisine, Gallagher’s Boxty House is the place to go for a menu of authentic Irish dishes. Chapter One is the gourmet stop in town, and The Bald Barista is a place to visit during the day for a snack, lunch, or coffee in a trendy atmosphere.
Dublin is full of life and full of things to see and experience. Just be sure you have your U.S. passport if you’re planning to go. Urgent passport renewal can be accessed online should you need your passport in a hurry.
