Sonic The Hedgehog Games- Sonic R

Sonic R is developed by Traveller’s Tales and published by Sega. The general producer of the game is Yuji Naka. The game producer is Tetsuo Shinyu. The game director is Masamitsu Shiino. The game design director is Takashi lizuka. Hirokazu Yasuhara is the map design director. The character artists in Sonic R include Yuji Uekawa, Yoshtaka Miura, Naoto Ohshima and Hiroshi. The graphic advisors for the Sonic R game are Nishiyama. The composers of the game background music are Richard Jacques, and Naofumi Hataya. Sonic R is built on a number of platforms including Sega Saturn and PC. Sonic R can be played as single player or multiplayer. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated Sonic R as suitable for kids to adults.

Sonic R features all the characters that are available in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sonic R has the same environmental openness in the Sonic platformers. There are many colorful 3D graphics. The background music of the game is the Powerpop soundtrack by Richard Jacques. The in game music is available as standard song tracks on the game disk so that you can play it with a CD player.

Sonic R has 5 racetrack with staple Sonic level themes including Resort Island, Radical City, Regal Ruin, Reactive Factory and Radiant Emerald. The first four racetrack can be played from the start to the final. Resort Island based its setting on a beach environment with mountains, and waterfalls. The theme song that is played in the background of the Resort Island is Can You Feel the Sunshine? Radical City is a nighttime city that has many giant pinball tables. The theme song that is played in the background is Living in the City. Regal Ruin is an Egyptian theme race track that has a similar appearance of the Angel Island. The background music of Regal Ruin is Back in Time. Reactive Factory is a metallic theme course that has a setting based on Doctor Robotnik fortress. Radiant Emerald is a surreal course located in the giant chaos emerald in the space. The Saturn version of the radiant emerald course track is completely translucent. The course song that is played in the background of radiant emerald is Diamond in the Sky.

The default characters in Sonic R include Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles “Tails” Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, and Amy Rose. Sonic the hedgehog is initially playable. Sonic has the fastest speed but has poor handling. Miles can fly at a fixed level for a brief priod. He can also use shortcuts that other characters cannot do so. Knuckles the Echidna has the ability to glide for an unlimited period of time. Knuckles is an all round character and don’t have any significant features. Amy Rose drives a car and has the ability to hover the water. Although Amy moves at a slow speed, it can boost its speed to a very high top speed. Amy doesn’t have the ability to jump. Sonic R also has some secret characters which must be unlocked including Doctor Eggman, Metal Sonic, EggRobo, Metal Knuckles, and Super Sonic. Eggman races with his Eggmobile.

After Eggman collects ten rings, the Eggmobile will shoot a heat seeking missile. Metal Sonic has the ability to jump very high and will not immediately drop into the water. Tails Doll moves at a slightly faster speed than Tails but with worser handling. EggRobo is a robot whose head and body has the shape of an egg. EggRobo has similar abilities to Robotnik but it moves at a slower speed. Metal Knuckles is robotic knuckles can moves faster than the original knuckles. Metal knuckles also have a higher but slower glide. Super Sonic has the fastest speed in the game. Super Sonic can double jump and run on the water surface. Super Sonic can be difficult to controlled by the player due to its speed.
